In January-September 2020, Azerbaijan imported 18,400 tons of cement, which is 27.4 % less than in January-September 2019. At the same time, the costs of cement import fell by 48.3 % YoY, down to $ 3.2 million.
2.53 million tons of cement were produced in the country in 9M 2020, which is 0.6 % less compared to January-September 2019. In 4M 2020, the volume of cement production in the country was behind last year's indicators by 10 %. In Q1 2020, Azerbaijan was behind Q1 2019 by 3 % with 684,000 tons of cement produced. Now the industry is set for steady recovery.
There are three large cement plants with an aggregate design capacity of 3.7 million tons per year in Azerbaijan: Norm Cement, Holcim Azerbaijan and Gazakh Cement Plant.
