Cement imports to Uzbekistan sharply increased in January-April 2021

In January-April 2021, cement imports to Uzbekistan almost doubled compared to the same period in 2020, up to 1 million tons. Imported cement was worth $ 50.5 million. We remind that from April 1st, zero rate of customs duties on the import of cement has been established, which previously amounted to 30%. At the same time, the volume of construction work in the country has increased.

Most of the cement was imported from Kazakhstan - 498.3 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan - 278.5 thousand tons, Tajikistan - 234.7 thousand tons. 10.8 thousand tons were imported from Iran, 8.6 thousand tons from Turkmenistan.

Majority was imported to Tashkent - 496.6 thousand tons, then Fergana region - 194.9 thousand tons and Andijan region - 183.7 thousand tons. For Namangan, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions, this indicator was 54.4 thousand, 43.8 thousand and 30.0 thousand tons, respectively.
