Cement, Lime and Concrete Production Decreased in Armenia in January 2021

In January 2021, Armenian enterprises produced 2,700 tons of cement, which is 65.8 % less than in 2020. The volume of production of ready-mixed concrete in the country for the same period decreased by 22.9 %, down to 19,200 tons.

The volume of production of building mixtures in January 2021 decreased by 9.3 % compared to January 2020 and amounted to 1,900 tons. The volume of lime production decreased by 17.9 % and amounted to 3,400 tons. The volume of gypsum production decreased by 59.2 % and amounted to 465 tons.

In mid-April 2020, the republic resumed production of cement and concrete products as well as some construction works, which had been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, Armenian enterprises produced 714,900 tons of cement (up by 19.2 % YoY) and 666,000 tons of ready-mixed concrete (up by 8.6 % YoY).
