In January 2021, Ukrainian enterprises produced 536,700 tons of clinker, which is 12.5 % more than in January 2020. The volume of cement production for the same period decreased by 5.5 % and amounted to 329,900 tons.
The volume of lime production in January 2021 increased by 13 % YoY and amounted to 223,100 tons.
The volume of ready-mixed concrete production decreased by 23.4 %, down to 614,700 tons.
At the end of 2020, the volume of cement, clinker and lime production in Ukraine showed an increase.
The introduction of import duties for Belarusian and Moldovian clinker and cement, along with the ban of Russian cement products on August 1, 2019, boosted the demand for local products. Duties for all goods from Moldova (including cement) were set at 94.46 %, and duties for all goods from Belarus (including cement) were set at 57.03 %. More than 80 % of cement imports are products of Turkish enterprises.
