In the first five months of 2020, Kazakhstan’s enterprises produced 3.68 million tons of cement (up by 5.6 % YoY). Almost a third of the total volume (1.09 million tons) was produced at the enterprises of the city of Shymkent. Cement enterprises of Kazakhstan dispatched 3.71 million tons of cement to consumers (up by 4.1 % YoY).
Cement production in May increased by 17.9 % MoM and decreased by 5.9 % YoY (to 1.01 million tons). Clinker production in 5M 2020 amounted to 3.04 million tons (up by 20.9 % YoY).
In late May, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced its intention to put into operation 28 new enterprises for the production of building materials.
The cement industry of the republic is represented by 17 integrated plants. At the end of last year, a plant with a capacity of 1 million tpa was commissioned in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region in the south-west of the country.
