Clinker Cooler Now Set up at New Eurocement Plant Near Tashkent

A clinker cooler installation is complete at the production site of 'Akhangarantsement', a subsidiary of Russian EUROCEMENT holding in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. According to the holding, the installation of the main equipment of the future production line is now underway.

The clinker temperature at the outlet of the cooler is 65 °C (plus the ambient temperature), EUROCEMENT group specifies. Cooled clinker is crushed at the output end of a cooler, and then transported to a clinker silo by a cell conveyor.

Lining work in the heat exchanger is also underway, and electrical equipment is being installed at the construction site. A raw materials warehouse designed and equipped in compliance with the efficiency and environmental standards is nearing completion. The plant is expected for commissioning in 2020.

“The construction site is reliably provided with materials and equipment. It guarantees a high quality of work and its timely completion. Considering the growing needs of the market of Uzbekistan in building materials, EUROCEMENT group is prioritising the construction of a new plant. The group intends to create a building materials cluster on its basis. The company's management maintains constant contact with contractors in order to quickly resolve all issues that arise,” says President of EUROCEMENT group Mikhail Skorokhod.

The general contractor is the Chinese 'Beijing Triumph International Engineering Company' is a subsidiary of China National Building Material (CNBM). CNBM is a major global cement and equipment producer, and part of the state-owned China National Building Material Group.

The cluster of building materials will include cement production in a capacity of 5 million tons per year. Two million tons provided by the existing Akhangarantsement production line, with 3 million more coming from a new one. The cluster will also include the production of earthquake-resistant reinforced concrete products, refractories and other products for housing and infrastructure construction projects. Investments in the new plant at the Akhangarantsement site are estimated at over 200 million dollars.

According to the concept of development of the cement industry, Uzbekistan should reach 22.2 million tpa in cement production by 2025. Last year results rest at a mark of just 9 million tons.
