Concrete rises in price in the Urals

According to Olga Smirnova, head of the antitrust division of the Sverdlovsk FAS of Russia, "the prices of construction materials have gone up because of the increased cost of their production".

The price of insulation materials increased the most, by 50–60 %, as well as metals and metal products, by 45–55 %. Concrete, bitumen and bricks became 15–20 % more expensive. The cost of timber rose due to a decrease in logging and high demand on the world market.

The cost of housing grows not as fast as that of the building materials. During the first quarter of 2021 the cost of standard apartments increased by 16 %, of those with an improved layout by 15 %, and of elite apartments by 8 %.
