Sibcem continues to implement projects aimed at increasing the level of environmental safety of production facilities. In 2020, the corresponding expenses of the company amounted to 452 million rubles. In 2021, according to preliminary calculations, the same indicator will reach 554 million rubles.
Programs to reduce the impact on the environment are being implemented at all plants of the holding. Therefore, in 2019-2020, three large-scale investment projects with a total cost of over 800 million rubles were completed at the Krasnoyarsk Cement Plant: they built a 130 m high chimney for three kilns, modernized rotary kiln No. 5 and installed a modern electrostatic precipitator on it. As a result, the company has reduced dust emissions by more than three times compared to 2017. At the Topkinsky plant, the re-equipment of the rotary kiln No. 1 is currently being completed. The total cost of the project is about 363 million rubles. By installing a powerful electrostatic precipitator on the unit, the company will ensure the stable operation of the furnace gas cleaning system and minimize the amount of dust entering the atmosphere.
“The impact on the environment is also being reduced by other plants of the holding. Since foundation of Siberian Cement in 2004, and until 2020, over 1.8 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes, - commented Sergey Sheptalin, Executive Vice President of Sibcem. – However, it is important to understand: not only environmental projects themselves have a positive effect. All measures of large-scale program of technical re-equipment of production facilities "work" to increase the level of their environmental safety, as they allow increasing the productivity of equipment, more rational use of resources, and reduction in number of emission sources. In other words, each modernization project solves a set of tasks and necessarily has an environmental component.”
