Georgia Increases Cement Imports in 7M 2020 by 11.9 %

The volume of cement imports to Georgia in January-July 2020 increased by 11.9 % YoY and amounted to 396,300 tons. The import value increased by 3.4 % to US$ 20.7 million. Among Georgia's import partners, the leading countries are Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey.

Turkey imported 195,200 tons of cement to Georgia worth US$ 10.5 million — 3.5 and 3 times more than in 7M 2019, respectively.

Azerbaijan imported 174,100 tons of cement to Georgia worth $ 8.7 million, which is 24.6 % YoY and 31.8 % YoY less than, respectively.

Imports of cement from Iran increased by 29.5 % YoY in physical terms (up to 27,000 tons) and by 21.7 % YoY in monetary value (up to $ 1.4 million).
