Çimsa to Build the Republic of Ireland’s Largest Rooftop Solar Installation at Mannok

The project will increase the company’s total installed solar capacity across all of its operations to more than 30 MW.

Building on the renewable energy investments that have positioned it as a pioneer in Türkiye’s cement and building materials industry, Çimsa continues to expand its expertise internationally. As part of this commitment, the company has commenced construction of a rooftop solar power plant at Mannok, one of the leading building materials manufacturing sites in the UK and Ireland, which joined the Çimsa family in the final quarter of 2024.

The rooftop solar installation will cover approximately 38,800 square metresand will comprise approximately 10,000 solar panels. With an installed capacity of 6 MW, the facility will generate around 4.86 million kWh of renewable electricity each year, preventing approximately 792 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The project will rank among the Republic of Ireland’s most significant renewable energy investments, not only within the building materials sector but across the country as a whole. Upon completion, it will become the largest rooftop solar installation in the Republic of Ireland.
