Iran starts rail export of clinker to Turkey

Iran has started exporting clinker to Turkey by rail from the Hashtgerd station, located near the cement plant in Abyek.

The first batch consisted of 27 wagons with 1,500 tons of clinker. This initial phase is being implemented as a pilot, and if tariff conditions, transit performance, and border exchange procedures prove efficient, monthly exports of around 20,000 tons are expected to follow.

In line with its policies to expand international transport, boost transit capacity, and strengthen the role of railways in the national economy, the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways has begun the inaugural export movement of clinker from Hashtgerd to the Turkish market.
