Serbia's economy ministry said it has agreed to provide a 10.6 million euro ($12.3 million) subsidy to Lafarge Srbija, part of Swiss building materials maker Holcim Group, to help finance the construction of a new cement plant in Belgrade's Obrenovac municipality.

The government in Belgrade announced Lafarge Srbija's plans to build the new facility in August last year.

According to the subsidy deal, which was signed on October 9 and published by the economy ministry on Thursday, Lafarge plans to invest a total of 112.25 million euro in the new facility by the end of 2027.
