Public discussion of the national standard in information modeling has begun

Draft national standard GOST R “Unified information modeling system. Building information model. Construction Rules” was developed in accordance with the Program of National Standardization of Russia in 2021. The customer of the works is FAU "FCS" of the Ministry of Construction of Russia. The developer of the standard is the National Association of Consulting Engineers in Construction. The draft standard is an integral part of the Unified Information Modeling System developed by the State Corporation Rosatom as part of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Construction of Russia and State Corporation Rosatom.

Development of the draft standard is part of the digital transformation of the construction industry. The standard extends the use of information modeling technologies from the design stage, where the objects themselves are modeled (BIM), to the construction stage, where the construction processes of these objects are already modeled.

The standard is being developed for the first time, the document has no equivalents among international and national standards.

The solutions incorporated in the standard generalize the long-term experience of Rosatom State Corporation in the construction of nuclear power units and provides opportunity for the construction of housing, social facilities, industrial facilities and infrastructure.

It is expected that this standard will be in demand by customers of capital construction projects, engineering companies, design institutes and contractors.

The standard is expected to be adopted by the end of 2021.

Public discussion of the draft standard, initiated by Rosstandart on August 10, will last until October 10, 2021.
