Shree Cement has announced the construction of a plant in the state of Meghalaya

India’s Shree Cement announced a significant greenfield expansion in Meghalaya, strengthening its presence in the northeastern region of the country.

The project involves the construction of an integrated plant in the East Jaintia Hills district with a capacity of about 1.0 Mta of clinker and cement. This will be the company’s first asset in the region.

The total investment is estimated at USD 193.75 million. Commissioning is expected by the quarter ending March 2028.

At the moment Shree Cement operates a cement production capacity of 62.8 Mta in India.
