SLK Cement wins environmental award

SLK Cement received a nominee diploma for a project to modernize the gas cleaning system based on the results of two stages of the competition for the award of the national prize "ECOTECH-LEADER 2021". To date, experts have selected applications from 27 Russian companies and one foreign company that has submitted an international project in the field of ecology. The third and final stage of the project will be completed in October.

The ECOTECH-LEADER 2021 prize is awarded for achievements in the development, implementation and promotion of effective technologies in the field of ecology and nature management. SLK Cement participates in the category "Reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere", in which 6 applications were submitted.

“SLK Cement presented at the competition a project to modernize the gas cleaning system after rotary kilns by installing an efficient modern electrostatic precipitator. All work has already been completed, dust collection equipment has been put into operation, – stated Vitaly Wagner, director of labor protection, industrial safety and ecology at SLK Cement. – We managed to achieve a reduction in gross dust emissions into the atmosphere by 183 tons per year. According to the results of measurements carried out by a certified laboratory, the dust content of air after treatment is no more than 30 mg/nm³, which complies with the European Union standards for industrial emissions."

Caring for the environment is one of the priorities of the company; at the plants of SLK Cement, the most complex projects of modernization of production are being implemented, aimed at increasing the efficiency of equipment and reducing the harmful impact on the environment.

The final stage of the competition will involve companies that present their projects or solutions for technological modernization of production and its environmental safety, rational use of natural resources, development of environmental programs and minimization of environmental pollution. The winners will be announced on October 3 at the ECOTECH-LEADER 2021 award ceremony in Moscow.
