According to Soyuzcement, in January-March 2021, cement consumption in Russia decreased compared to the same indicator in the first quarter of 2020 by 10.2%, to 8.9 million tons. The volume of cement production in the first quarter of 2020 decreased by 9.7% and also amounted to 8.9 million tons. The expected indicator of cement consumption in April 2021 - 4.8 million tons – which is 17% higher than in April 2020.
In January-April 2021, the volume of railway transportation of cement in the country increased in relation to the indicator for January-March 2020 by 5.5%, and amounted to 7,068 thousand tons.
The volume of work performed in construction in January-February 2021 was 0.2% higher than the level of the same period of the previous year. In absolute terms, the volume of construction work in January-March increased by 53.4 billion rubles.
The indicator of housing commissioning decreased in 2017-2018, in 2019 it turned into positive dynamics, with the growth of 4.9%. In 2020, it decreased again by 5.9% compared to the same period of last year. At the beginning of 2021, the indicator turned into an increase of 15.4%. An increase in the volume of housing commissioning is forecasted by the end of 2021.
