The European Commission has adopted a legislative proposal to increase demand for low-carbon, European-made technologies and products. The Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA) will boost manufacturing, grow businesses, and create jobs in the EU, while supporting industry's adoption of cleaner, future-ready technologies.
Under the proposal, «Made in EU» and low-carbon requirements would be introduced in public procurement and support schemes for several strategic sectors, including steel, cement, aluminium, automotive manufacturing and net-zero technologies. The goal is to strengthen European production capacity and increase demand for European clean technologies and products.
