Votorantim Cimentos will expand capacity by 3.7 Mta

The Brazilian cement company Votorantim Cimentos is implementing an investment program of 5 billion BRL (Brazilian real), which provides for an increase in production capacity in the country by 3.7 million tons per year.

This includes the completed production capacity increase at the Salto de Pirapora (SP) plant, the modernisation of a cement kiln at the Xambioá (TO) factory and the rehabilitation of cement mills at the Esteio (RS) and Laranjeiras (SE) units, which were shut down. 

At the Edealina cement plant in Goiás a new 1.0 Mta grinding mill has been commissioned, operations will start in April. The Nobres (MT) plant will receive a new cement grinding mill, which will increase the unit’s production capacity to 1.2 Mta.
