Timlyuy Cement Increased Cement Production in 4M 2020 by 21.6 % YoY

Timlyuy Cement plant in Buryatia increased cement production in January-April 2020 by 21.6 % YoY, up to 67,500 tons. The increase is mostly attributed to the resumption of dispatches to Priargunsk Industrial Mining and Chemical Association, gold mining companies and local construction companies. Cement is currently shipped at the construction site of an ice hockey stadium in the city of Ulan-Ude, as per TimlyuyCement’s representatives.

“On lockdown days [...], many construction companies were forced to suspend operations and, as expected, cement supplies were also delayed. As restrictions on the federal and regional levels partially lifted, the shipment of products for the construction of large facilities resume,” says managing director of Timlyuy Cement, Vladimir Klichko.

In the wake of the construction season, the plant is finalizing all scheduled repair works.

Lining was replaced in the rotary kiln No. 3, the full inspection of the exhaust fan bearings was performed. Among other works are repairs of the electrostatic precipitator, and the coal mill duct replacement. Overhaul of the main drive’s gearbox of the kiln was completed. Repairs of the kiln No. 1 are expected to be complete by late June.

The grinding facility has already been modernized. The plant’s specialists replaced the armor plates at the raw mills No. 5 and No. 2, repaired the cement mills No. 9 and No. 8. Plate feeders of the mill No. 6 had frequency converters installed. Plate feeders at the cement mill No. 10 were replaced with weight batchers.

Mining equipment fleet has been replenished with a new wheeled excavator equipped with a bulldozer blade.
