Equipment for reception of materials from under railway cars

One of the technological problems faced practically by all cement plants is the reception and selection of materials discharged from under railway cars. With the grab-bucket unloading mode gradually phased out (because of its high labour input and frequent damage to the rolling stock by grab buckets), the role of automated transportation of materials from receiving hoppers is gaining importance. The article presents a number of traditional solutions of this technological problem offered by Aumund Foerdertechnik GmbH, Germany, and also suggests an innovative solution with application of the underrail Samson™ feeder.
