Modern FLSmidth Cement Plants for Russia

In the autumn of 2007 FLSmidth signed 3 contracts for 3 new modern complete production lines. Near Podgorensky, some 600 km southeast of Moscow, Eurocement is constructing a new plant with a clinker capacity of 6000t/d corresponding to approximately 2.2 million t cement per year (Plant A). LLC Cement will build their first cement plant near the town of Slantsy, about 200 km west of St. Petersburg. The capacity is 5000 t/d clinker or some 1.8 million t cement per year (Plant B). OOO Kurskaya Stroitelnaya Companiya is building their first plant near Kursk some 700 km south of Moscow. The production is 3500 tpd clinker corresponding to 1.25 million t cement year (Plant C). In the article the process solutions and special features of these new state-of-the art production lines are described. The extreme climatic conditions and the very special raw materials are particular challenges for the design of the plants. Further all plants are designed to meet not only Russian but also European environmental standards.
