Enhancement of reactivity of a cement raw mix containing coarse-grained quartz

The article considers the possibility of neutralizing to a considerable degree of coarse-grained – quartz, which is present in the raw material, by grinding the slurry in two streams. In one of the streams (a clay-chalk stream) a carbonate component portion is reduced by 3 to 4 times, which makes it possible to considerably increase dispersity of the slurry and of coarse-grained quartz in it, as well as to increase the raw mix reactivity, and to improve the microstructure and hydraulic activity of clinker.
