White portland cement based on the Urals pyrophyllitic slates

The article gives the results of the complex investigations for developing a power-saving technology for the production of a high-quality white Portland cement with the use of pyrophyllitic natural slates as a raw material. It has been established that a raw mixture of the required chemical-mineralogical composition in using such slates consists of two components, is easier to grind and to burn in comparison with the traditional three-component mixture, which includes, except for a carbonate component, some kaolin and quartz sand. It shows the efficiency of pyrophyllites as active mineral additives to clinker in the production of white Portland cement.
