On evaluation of the degree of corona discharge in electrostatic precipitators

The article analyzes the reasons for failures in the operation of industrial electric precipitators.
It is shown that the reduction of the gas purification efficiency is connected with the high dust content in the gas-dust flow and with the great amount of fine-grained dust.
It is suggested that corona-forming electrodes of the spring cogged type should be used.
