A ropeway system of transporting raw materials for cement plant in Sudan
Often, local geography such as mountainous terrain, overflowing rivers or heavily populated areas interferes with smooth material flow from the quarry to the place of its processing by the shortest route. Long detours may significantly affect the speed and cost of delivery. The article describes the situation at one of the cement plants in Sudan, where a direct link between the raw materials quarry and the production site looked impossible to establish. Using an alternative overhead conveyor system RopeCon®, developed and manufactured by the Austrian company Doppelmayr Transport Technology, made it possible to overcome these difficulties.Author: H.
