Influence of competitive adsorption on the action of air-entraining additives in the presence of superplasticizers

In the presence of superplasticizers the effectiveness of air-entraining additives in the concrete (the optimum dose, the level and stability of air entrainment) depends on competitive adsorption and, accordingly, is determined by the chemistry of the functional groups of additives.
