Sustainability and cement — addressing evolving challenges

The paper describes the activities of the organization Cement Sustainability Initiative, CSI, of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, WBCSD. In 2002, the CSI has adopted a program of action - the representatives of the industry have teamed up to study the problems of its sustainable development and to address them. The CSI recently announced the launch of a program for the integrated analysis of the factors of external influence of cement and concrete production i.e. of the impact that it has on people’s daily lives. The basic provisions of this program are quoted.
