CEMEX announced that it is providing Vertua lower carbon cement for three high-profile renewable energy projects in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The projects include wind farms in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and a hydropower plant in eastern Herzegovina.

Heidelberg Materials acquires SER Group, a leading integrated company in the demolition and construction materials recycling business, based in Heilbronn, Southern Germany. With an annual revenue of around €50 million and three modern recycling sites, SER Group is the market leader in the greater Heilbronn area and employs more than 220 people. The acquisition comes shortly after the take-over of Berlin-based RWG Holding GmbH in November 2022 and highlights Heidelberg Materials’ focus on enhancing its circular economy activities.

The transition to the Russian brand Cementum is the beginning of a new, completely independent stage of the company's development. The rebranding of assets belonging to the Russian division of Holcim is part of an agreement reached in December 2022 between the management of the Russian division of the company and the international Holcim group on the transfer of all Holcim assets in the Russian Federation to the local management of the company.

In 12 months, the plant produced 0.8 million tons of cement – 2 % more than in 2021. The company produced, in particular, 0.5 million tons of CEM I 42.5N and 0.1 million tons of CEM II/A-G 32.5B. These types of products proved to be the most in demand on the market last year.

CEMEX announced that it has acquired a 51% stake in Israel-based SHTANG Recycle LTD, a construction, demolition, and excavation waste, (CDEW) recycling company. The acquisition aligns with CEMEX’s strategy to strengthen its business in developed markets through bolt-on acquisitions in businesses with strong circular and sustainable attributes.

Sibcem Holding continues its investment activities to upgrade and expand the fleet of special equipment of its plants. A hydraulic excavator and a bulldozer have been put into operation in TimlyuyCement (Sibcem Holding). Equipment with a total cost of RUB 66 million was purchased for the development of the second ore body of the south-western flank of the Tarakanovskoye limestone and porphyroid deposit.

CEMEX announced the launch of Regenera, a business that provides circularity solutions, including reception, management, recycling, and co-processing of waste. Regenera leverages CEMEX’s global footprint and the ability of its production processes to use non-recyclable refuse and industrial byproducts as more sustainable substitutes for fossil fuels and natural raw materials.
