KwaZulu-Natal’s sole cement producer has completed the upgrade to its kiln at its Simuma Plant in Port Shepstone.

South Africa’s Simuma cement plant upgraded its kiln line No. 2 from 1500 to 4000 tpd. 

Chilanga Cement Plc, a member of the Huaxin Group, today officially commissioned the upgraded Kiln 1 and a new Lime Production Line at its Ndola Plant.

Cameroon’s Cimencam, which is controlled by Lafarge-Holcim, has inaugurated a 1000 tpd kiln line for its existing cement production facility.

Portland Cement Ltd. in Malawi, which is a member of Huaxin, has a 2000 tpd clinker production line under construction.

In a joint venture, Heidelberg Materials and CBI Ghana Ltd, a leading Ghanaian cement manufacturer located in Tema, Ghana, have completed the construction of the largest industrial-scale flash calciner for clay worldwide. 

Cement sales in Morocco—a key barometer of construction and public works activity—continued their upward trajectory in early 2025, signalling renewed momentum in infrastructure projects and real estate financing.
