Bright Hydrogen Solutions Limited will construct and operate a 2 MW industrial green hydrogen production facility for the cement plant of Çimsa Cementos España S.A.U. in Buñol, Spain.
The project is designed to support the integration of hydrogen as an alternative fuel source in the cement production process. The company noted that cement production is considered one of the most difficult industrial sectors to decarbonize due to its reliance on continuous high-temperature thermal processes and carbon-intensive production methods.
Construction services will be provided by BrightHy Solutions’ Spanish branch under a separate agreement with Çimsa. Equipment supply, engineering, and operation services will also be carried out through BrightHy Spain. The project is expected to utilize equipment from a Chinese hydrogen technology supplier.
The company stated that the hydrogen sector is transitioning from early-stage project announcements toward the execution of industrial projects with long-term commercial structures and operational reliability requirements. It was also noted that the future deployment of hydrogen technologies will depend on projects capable of solving industrial challenges in a “pragmatic and economically viable way.”
