AKKERMANN launches new crushing complex

The new crushing complex will increase the volume of processing of metallurgical waste.

One of the Company's activities is the recycling of metallurgical waste. Refined products are in demand both in company’s own cement production and in the foreign market for iron-containing raw materials. Thanks to the efforts made, the deposits of slag accumulated for decades are steadily decreasing by more than 200 thousand tons annually, which has a beneficial effect on the ecology of Novotroitsk and does not allow the expansion of the territories of slag dumps.

To increase the efficiency of slag processing, an investment project was implemented to create an additional production site - a mobile crushing and screening complex (MDSC).

MDSC was put into operation at the northern dump of the slag dump development workshop (TsRShO). The previously unused slag of blast kiln and electric arc kiln production of coarse fraction will now also be processed.

The planned volume of slag processing of the new complex is over 1.45 million tons per year. Total volume in this case will exceed 7.4 million tons per year, which will significantly reduce the area of slag dumps in Novotroitsk.
