Almalyk MMC Outlines Primary Digitalization Goals

At a press conference at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan, representatives of Almalyk MMC discussed the ‘Digital AMMC 2030’ development concept. The concept was developed as part of the ‘Digital Uzbekistan 2030’ national strategy. The head of the production automation department of the company, Ravshan Maksudov, said that in order to organize digital management and control of all business processes, numerous IT tools are being introduced at Almalyk MMC.

“To date, the company has outlined six main strategic goals for digitalization,” explains Ravshan Maksudov. “This is the creation of a unified system for planning, budgeting, execution and operational control. Management of production processes in all divisions of the plant, providing management with reliable and up-to-date information on key production indicators on-line will allow for timely decisions in management, automation and digitalization of all our business processes. It will help cut production costs by increasing the accuracy of accounting and reducing the non-productive time of operations."

Digitalization will affect the mining department as well as our transport management. The introduction of digital solutions will increase the productivity of the mining and transporting equipment by up to 15 %, reduce its operating costs by up to 8 %, and also reduce fuel costs by about 5-10 %.

The company also plans to implement an ERP-system (Enterprise Resource Planning), aimed at automating the basic operations of the financial, sales, HR and other departments.

Q1 2021 — the data center will be modernized. During this period, the communication system of about 50 divisions of the plant will also transition to digital.
Q4 2021 — all underground mines will be provided with dispatch control.
Q2 2022 — a mining and geological information system will be introduced.
Q4 2023 — the mining transport complex will be provided with dispatch control.
Q4 2025 — ERP system will be introduced.

AMMC has saved UZS 1 trillion, or about US$ 95.8 million so far (at the exchange rate as of 12/11/2020). All thanks to the already implemented solutions for the automation and digitalization of technological production.
