Sibcem’s Krasnoyarskiy Cement Reports "High" Construction Season Results of 2020

From January to November, Sibcem’s Krasnoyarskiy Cement plant produced 592,300 tons of cement. By the end of the year, the company plans to produce 621,200 tons of products, which is 2 % more than in 2019. The plant undergoes repairs of the primary and auxiliary equipment. About RUB 420 million was allocated for these purposes by Sibcem during 2020.

This year, the plant received a new mining dump truck and an excavator. The cost of the equipment was RUB 30 million. In 2021, Sibcem plans to allocate another RUB 40 million for the modernization of the vehicle fleet. All cars that replace outdated models have the highest environmental class certification.

The enterprise is a participant of the Clean Air national project and made a significant contribution to its implementation. Thus, in 2020, a large-scale environmental project was completed at the Krasnoyarskiy Cement Plant — the construction of a new electrostatic precipitator on the rotary kiln No. 5 of the clinker production line. Sibcem has invested about RUB 223 million. The commissioning of modern equipment made it possible to reduce inorganic dust emissions in exhaust gases of the rotary kiln No. 5 and to increase the level of environmental safety of production in general.

“Contrary to objective difficulties, Krasnoyarskiy Cement has implemented its plans to improve the environmental safety of production. With the launch of the new filter, we have completed the technical re-equipment of our kiln No. 5," said Vladimir Afanasin, Managing Director of Krasnoyarskiy Cement.

The company also equipped the kiln exhaust chimney (one for three kilns) with an automatic emission control system. The gas analytical system measures the parameters of the gas flow and transmits the data to an industrial computer. In order to determine the systemic error, the specialists of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “All-Russian Research Institute of Metrology named after D.I. Mendeleev” carried out a complex of tests. After the subsequent formation and issuance of a package of documents on the approval of the equipment and its operations, the acceptance and commissioning of the automatic measuring system will be carried out with the initial verification procedure. The equipment is currently in test mode. The total cost of the project will amount to RUB 28 million.

The plans of the enterprise for the next year also include technical re-equipment of the aspiration system of the primary limestone crushing units of the Mining & Crushing facility. More than RUB 15 million will be allocated for these purposes.

Today the assortment of the Krasnoyarskiy Cement Plant includes nine types of cement, including six special types. All of them fully meet the requirements of Russian and international standards, as evidenced by the certificates of conformity.

Cementis is shipped to customers by road and rail. It can be purchased in bulk, in soft containers of 1000 kg, as well as in bags of 50 and 25 kg.

The products of Krasnoyarskiy Cement are used in the construction and reconstruction of buildings and industrial facilities, as well as hydraulic structures (hydroelectric power stations, bridges, etc.), airfield runways; their oil well cements are actively used in the oil industry.

Today, Krasnoyarskiy Cement employs 685 people. The plant has its own training center, which is responsible for staff development and competence improvement. In 2020 launched virtual online training programmes for its employees. New programmes, including "Work Safety", "High-rise Operations", "Fire Safety Basics" and others, allowed the company to operate independently from training centers.

“The plant has successfully completed the “high” construction season of 2020, however, it is still difficult to make specific forecasts about the results of the year and the further development of the situation in the building materials market. The level of cement consumption in the Siberian Federal District is likely to stay largely dependent on state support measures for the construction sector, as well as measures implemented within the framework of national projects,” said Vladimir Afanasin.
