In January-October 2020, Armenian enterprises produced 609,500 tons of cement, which is 26.2 % more than in January-October 2019. The volume of production of ready-mixed concrete for the same period increased by 12.1 %, up to 533,800 tons.
The volume of production of building mixtures in 9M 2020 increased by 18.8 % compared to the same period last year and amounted to 37,400 tons. Lime production increased by 2.9 % and amounted to 45,000 tons.
In mid-April, the republic resumed production of cement, as well as concrete products, which had previously been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, it was allowed to resume some construction work. Already following the results of five months of this year, the country's enterprises showed an increase in cement production by 33.9 % YoY. Meanwhile, cement imports in 5M 2020 fell 41.5 % YoY.
