Angarskcement Finalizes Modernization of the Cement Mill Dust Aspiration System

November 2019, the Angarsk cement and mining plant completes the modernization of the grinding facility: dust aspiration systems on mills No. 6 and 7. Two new filter bags manufactured by Sfera [Saratov, RU] were installed at the mills. As Angarskcement reported on Thursday, November 21, separators for mills No. 1 and 2 are up for commission in 2020.

One of the two new filter bags is already being tested. The manufacturer guarantees no more than 10 milligrams of cement dust per cubic meter to pass the filtering system. However, the experts at Angarskcement conducted test measurements and determined this figure to be even better — 1 mg per cubic meter.

Angarskcement spent 5.6 million rubles to purchase the Swedish modular compressor station Atlas Copco to supply dry air to the new filter bags. The modernization of the closed loop control system also began at the same grinding facility. According to the company, new equipment should improve product quality, reduce costs and increase competitiveness. Commissioning of the compressor is scheduled for 2020.

In 2019, Angarskcement finalized three environmental investment projects totaling 381 million rubles. As a part of it, a rotary kiln No. 1 got a new electrostatic precipitator, which traps 99.98% of pollutants. A similar filter to be installed in rotary kiln No. 2 in 2020.

Raw materials are now delivered from the warehouse to the Grinding Raw Materials and Clinker division using a new clamshell crane. The Shantui heavy bulldozer and two large Shacman tonnage trucks joined the hoisting and transportation facility. New KamAZ KO 829B — a water-spraying sand distributor — operates at the Pereval quarry helping maintain its roads by removing dust in summer, and ice in winter.

The Angarsk cement and mining plant is one of the leading enterprises in the construction industry in Eastern Siberian region. The production site is located near the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk region. The raw material base of the plant is a quarry near the city of Slyudyanka. The capacity of the enterprise is 1.3 million tons of cement per year. Angarskcement produced 594 thousand tons of cement in Jan. - Oct. 2019, which is 1% more than in the same period last year. Siberian Cement holding company owns a 50% stake in Angarskcement.
