Armenia Sees 9M YoY Increase in Cement, Concrete, Lime And Building Mixtures Production

In January-September 2020, Armenian enterprises produced 540,800 tons of cement, which is 25.4 % more than in January-September 2019. The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in the country for the same period increased by 16.4 %, up to 469,600 tons.

The volume of production of building mixtures in 9M 2020 increased by 24.2 % compared to the same period last year and amounted to 34,700 tons. Lime production increased by 5.4 % YoY and amounted to 41,200 tons.

In mid-April, the republic resumed production of cement, as well as concrete products, which had previously been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, it was allowed to resume some construction work. Already following the results of five months of this year, the country's enterprises showed an increase in cement production by 33.9 % YoY. Meanwhile, cement imports in 5M 2020 fell 41.5 % YoY.
