Cement Production in Armenia in January-November 2020 Increased by 19.2 %

In January-November 2020, Armenian enterprises produced 663,500 tons of cement, which is 19.2 % more than in January-November 2019. The volume of production of ready-mixed concrete in 11M 2020 increased by 7 %, up to 591,900 tons.

The volume of production of building mixtures in 11M 2020 increased by 18.4 % compared to the same period last year and amounted to 41,200 tons. The volume of lime production decreased by 3.3 % and amounted to 46,600 tons. The volume of gypsum production increased by 28.3 % and amounted to 27,000 tons.

In mid-April, the republic resumed production of cement, as well as concrete products, which had previously been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, it was allowed to resume some construction work. Already following the results of five months of this year, the country's enterprises showed an increase in cement production by 33.9 % YoY. Meanwhile, cement imports in 5M 2020 fell 41.5 % YoY.
