Nigeria's Dangote Cement has announced plans to expand its production capacity to more than 66 million tons of cement per year by 2028.
By the end of 2025, the company's production capacity amounted to 55 million tons of cement. The result was achieved, among other things, thanks to the commissioning of a new plant in Côte d'Ivoire, Africa.
In 2026, the company's facilities in Cameroon, Senegal and South Africa plan to increase production capacity by 2.7 million tons of cement per year.
In 2027, it is planned to increase capacity by 6.0 million tons of cement per year due to the commissioning of two lines at the plant in Itori, Nigeria.
In 2028, a new line with a capacity of 2.5 million tons per year is planned to be commissioned in Ethiopia. The investment will amount to about 400 million USD.
Representatives of Dangote Cement point out that the expansion reflects the company's strategy to strengthen its position in the African markets.
