Dry mixes for construction in the conditions of the Far North

VosCem plant has developed the compositions of North-Polar dry mixes of the M100 (M150, M200, M300) brands for use in the construction of houses, buildings and structures in the specific conditions of the Far North and equivalent regions of Russia.

 These conditions include:

• dependence of transport links on the season and weather conditions, which predetermines rare deliveries of complex logistics and, as a consequence, the need to form stocks of building materials with long-term storage.

In turn, long-term storage of typical dry mixtures under aggressive environmental influences (very low temperatures, humid, as a rule, "sea" air) leads to "clumping" (sticking) of binder grains, loss of cement activity, decrease in the rate of hydration, the strength of the hardened solution etc.;

• performance of work, setting, hardening and curing of mortar mixtures at low, often negative temperatures, while the costs of finishing technology, masonry, concreting using heating are expensive and not always technically available.

Mixes are developed:

• on the basis of high-quality Portland cement of special grinding, which provides a significant increase in the specific surface area and, accordingly, significantly lower activity losses during long-term storage;

• with an increased proportion of microsilica and superplasticizers, due to which the water demand of the solution decreases without deteriorating the mobility and development time of the mortar mixture. This is very important for plaster, masonry, setting and hardening of mixtures at low and negative temperatures.
