LafargeHolcim signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of waste management

The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow Region and LafargeHolcim signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of waste management. The document was signed by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow Region Anton Velikhovsky and the General Director of LafargeHolсim in Russia Maxim Goncharov. The agreement provides for joint work of the parties in the implementation of the waste disposal program at the cement plants of the LafargeHolcim Group within the framework of the implementation of the national project "Ecology".

“The modern cement industry offers a unique technology of waste disposal in cement kilns, recognized in Russia and Europe by BAT. The inclusion of the Shchurovsky plant in the regional waste management scheme will help create the necessary infrastructure for the final disposal of waste at existing production facilities in the Moscow Region and reduce the burden on the environment,” stated Maxim Goncharov.

Representatives of the department and LafargeHolcim agreed on the implementation of a standard for integrated waste processing in the Moscow region, exchange of experience on safety, efficiency and implementation of advanced technologies. It is assumed that within the framework of the agreement, appropriate amendments will be made to the regulatory framework for the Moscow region.
