EUROCEMENT Group Plans to Increase Waterborne Shipping Volumes of Cement

EUROCEMENT group is going to increase waterborne cement shipping by 2.5 times in 2020, up to 300,000 tons. The navigation season is open, and the first dispatch of 18,000 tons of cement is shipped along the Volga river to the cities Yaroslavl, Tolyatti and Nizhny Novgorod.

EUROCEMENT group notes an increase in demand for waterborne shipping of products every year, and continually expands its supply chain to reach key geographical destinations.

The logistics is handled by the unified transport division of the holding — ‘EUROCEMENT transport solutions’ company.

“This is one of the most cost-effective shipping methods: the lowest cost, and in the shortest time,” says senior vice president of EUROCEMENT group, Alexander Sapronov.

Waterborne transport allows for the delivery of large batches of products, and with no type restrictions. You can deliver in bulk, packaged, in pallets — all in one run. The geography of the EUROCEMENT group waterborne deliveries covers the Volga, Central and North-West federal districts.

In 2019, the holding's plants mastered the combined loading of palletized and big-bag cement products to one barge, along with two-tier pallet loading.
