After Rosstat informed about the increase in prices for building materials in Russia in June 2021 which amounted to 6.75%, and in January-June to 19.63%, FAS announced its intention to conduct inspections in the building materials market, as well as in large construction organizations as the rise in prices continues.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia also pointed out that the rise in prices for certain types of building materials (timber industry complex) in June was significantly higher than average.
However, given the fact that prices on foreign markets (in the United States and China) began to decline, prices under Russian export contracts also began to adjust, the department stated. The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects that in future this will lead to a balancing of prices in the domestic market.
