Fauji Cement commissioned 6500 tpd kiln line in Pakistan

Fauji Cement Company Limited (Pakistan) has successfully commissioned its Greenfield Cement Manufacturing Plant, which has a production capacity of 6,500tpd of clinker at Shadan Lund, District Dera Ghazi Khan, south-western part of Punjab. The Greenfield Project has been completed within a record time of 13 months.

The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that with the commencement of operation of the new line, the total cement production capacity of the Company has increased to 10.6Mta and established Fauji Cement Company’s position as the 3rd largest Cement producer in the country.

A top official said the project includes state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, emissions control features, and a Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant. Furthermore, the addition of this Greenfield Cement Plant in an extremely impoverished area of Shadan Lund in Southern Punjab will not only provide a livelihood to the locals but also help in the major uplift of the area.

Fauji Cement, as a responsible corporate entity, has initiated major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects well before the commissioning of the plant, including providing clean drinking water, healthcare and solar systems to deprived communities with no electricity and supporting school-going children.

Topline Pakistan Research adds that after expansion, Fauji Cement has become the third-largest cement-producing company in Pakistan and the second-largest player in the North.
