Gebr. Pfeiffer to Construct GBFS Grinding Plant for Swecem Ab

German equipment manufacturer Gebr. Pfeiffer has been awarded a contract for the construction and the supply of a granulated blast furnace slag grinding plant from the Swedish company Swecem AB. Work is scheduled for spring 2020.

“The success of having sold numerous MVR mills for cement and slag grinding and the experience gained in the field of medium-scale cement and slag grinding vertical roller mills were decisive reasons for Swecem AB to select Gebr. Pfeiffer’s proven vertical roller mill. This order once again demonstrates Gebr. Pfeiffer’s capabilities and competences of delivering full scope systems. Furthermore, Gebr. Pfeiffer’s core competence in grinding technology and corresponding services are constantly being improved and further developed. In this instance, Gebr. Pfeiffer offers a service agreement, starting from mechanical inspection via process optimization up to replacement of main wear parts.” says Ludwig Zetterström, CEO Swecem AB.

The plant will be located in Ukselsösund on the southeast coast of Sweden. The plant will use MVR 2500 C-4 mills with a capacity of 25 tons of slag powder per hour and an electric motor with 750 kW.

Swecem AB is part of PEAB, Scandinavia's largest engineering and construction company. In July this year, PEAB acquired Nordic paving and quarries business from the Finnish YIT.
