Georgia Increased Cement Imports from Azerbaijan in January 2021

In January 2021, Georgia imported 31,800 tons of cement from Azerbaijan — 2.5 times more than in January 2020. The cost of imports increased 2.2 times and amounted to US$ 1.46 million.

Another import partner of Georgia is Turkey. From there, 9,400 tons of cement, which is 71.8 % less than in January 2020. The cost of imports decreased by 69.8 % and amounted to US$ 535,500.

In total, Georgia imported 41,200 tons of cement in January, which is 19 % less than in January last year. The total value of imports decreased by 26.5 % and amounted to US$ 1.99 million.
