In 2020, Turkey exported 15.3 million tons of Portland cement, which is 55 % more than in the 12 months of 2019. The export value increased by 49.2 %, up to US$ 563.5 million. The main importers of Turkish cement were the United States (4.7 million tons worth US$ 185.8 million) and Israel (2.4 million tons worth US$ 79.6 million).
Ukraine increased the volume of export of Turkish Portland cement most of all among the states of the post-Soviet territory (according to the Turkish customs service) by 5.2 times, to 946,800 tons in the amount of US$ 38.4 million. Georgia imported 2.1 times more of Turkish cement than in 2019 — 167,800 tons. The value of imports for Georgia amounted to US$ 7.2 million — 93 % more than in 2019. The Russian Federation imported 34.3 % less — 49,800 tons, and its value amounted to US$ 2.2 million (down by 35.5 % YoY).
The volume of exports to Libya has grown significantly — 6.8 times in volume (530,100 tons) and 7 times in monetary value (US$ 20.2 million).
