Golukhinsky Cement Plant to Restart Production After Significant Downtime

After several months of downtime, a cement plant at the Golukha station in the Zarinsky district of Altai Krai plans to restart production and deliver products by April this year. Now the enterprise audits its production facilities and repairs key equipment.

The design capacity of this plant — the only cement enterprise in the region — is 300,000 tpa. The plant recovers from a lengthy downtime period caused by the bankruptcy of its former owner, the local holding company Stroygaz. The property of the enterprise was put up for sale a year ago, and the new owner registered ‘Golukhinsky Cement’ company.

According to director of ‘Reinforced Concrete Products of Siberia’ Kirill Ovsyannikov, Altai Territory needs about 700,000 tons of cement per year. Ovsyannikov had plans to purchase and restart the plant, but — since it required over 200 million rubles of investment in repairs and modernization — changed his plans.

In 2015, representatives of one of the world's largest cement holdings, HeidelbergCement, were invited to the Golukhinsky plant to negotiate a purchase. The negotiations ended to no avail
