In January-February 2021, Azerbaijani enterprises produced 2,800 tons of gypsum, which is four times more than in two months of 2020. The volume of cement production for the same period remained flat to 2020 and amounted to 410,600 tons.
The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in January-February 2021 increased by 19.5 % and amounted to 289,900 tons. The volume of lime production increased by 18.4 % and amounted to 5,800 tons.
In 12 months of 2020, the volume of cement production in Azerbaijan decreased by 5 % and amounted to 3.22 million tons. Clinker production increased by 5.7 %.
There are three large cement plants operating in Azerbaijan with an aggregate design capacity of 5.2 million tons per year: Norm Cement, Holcim Azerbaijan and Gazakh Cement Plant.
