Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies has announced the launch of H-CLAY®, a new technology for the cold processing of clay for use in the production of 0 % clinker cement.
According to the company, the technology enables the recovery and processing of various types of clay without using traditional calcination or flash-calcination processes, which are energy-intensive and generate CO₂ emissions. The processed clay can be integrated as a co-product in the formulation of low-carbon cements.
Hoffmann Green said H-CLAY® paves the way for a new generation of cements designed to meet the requirements of structural concrete, combining technical performance, durability, energy efficiency and a reduced environmental footprint. The technology also expands the range of raw materials available for use in the company’s cement formulations.
The company said the new technology strengthens its position in the development of 0 % clinker cement solutions and supports its objective of expanding its portfolio to six innovative clinker-free cements by 2030.
