Holcim announced to invest US$ 100m in its flagship cement plant in St. Genevieve in Missouri, USA.
The plant operates one of the largest single-kiln lines in the world. The investment will expand the plant’s current state-of-the-art production and logistics capabilities with the installation of a fifth vertical cement grinding mill (VRM) to enhance processing and allow cement production capacity to increase by more than 0.6 Mta, while reducing net CO2 emissions by more than 0.4 Mta. It is anticipated that Holcim will reduce its clinker factor to produce more blended and green cements.
